Troops Kill 10 Terrorists Near Nigeria–Cameroon Border in Joint Operation.

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in a coordinated effort with the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), have neutralized 10 Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists during a fierce gun battle along the Rann–Gamboru Ngala axis, close to the Nigeria–Cameroon border.

The successful counter-terrorism operation was disclosed on Monday night by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye.

Border Terrorists Crushed by Superior Firepower

According to Kangye, the operation was a strategically planned offensive targeting remaining terrorist elements hiding in border communities.

“Acting on credible intelligence, our troops masterfully stormed the terrorists’ hideout between Rann and Gamboru, resulting in an intense firefight that left 10 insurgents dead due to our troops’ superior firepower,” he stated.

Following the battle, the military recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition, including anti-aircraft rounds, which are now undergoing technical analysis.

Securing the Southern Lake Chad Axis

Kangye noted that this operation is part of a larger military strategy aimed at dominating the Southern Lake Chad region and preventing the cross-border movement of Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters.

He added that ongoing search and sweep operations are underway to locate escaped insurgents and dismantle any remaining terrorist hideouts in the area.
