Alleged Rape: “I’m Not Coming” – Speed Darlington Dares NAPTIP After Being Declared Wanted.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington, has openly defied the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) after being declared wanted for alleged rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.

NAIJABLOGDAILY reports that NAPTIP issued the wanted notice following the singer’s failure to honour an invitation over a video where he allegedly confessed to sleeping with a 15-year-old girl, which he posted on his Instagram page.

“I’m Not Coming” – Speed Darlington Reacts

In a fresh video shared on Monday, Speed Darlington dared the agency to bring forward evidence of the alleged crimes, while threatening legal action against NAPTIP for defamation of character.

  • “NAPTIP, pay attention. Take down all those wanted posters. I’m not coming. Did you hear me? I’m not coming,” he said in the video.

The singer insisted that his statements were mere “irresponsible talk” made in a bid to trend on social media and not a confession to a criminal act.

Claims of Clout-Chasing and Rights Violation

  • “All I did was speak. Irresponsible talk is not a crime. Where is your evidence? Who is your complainant?” he asked.
  • “You want to use me to collect social media clout. ‘Hey, look at us, we’re doing our job. We summoned a celebrity and he came.'”

Speed Darlington also criticized the agency for allegedly acting under public pressure from social media users tagging the agency to take action.

He claimed the NAPTIP invitation was equivalent to an “appearance” and demanded ₦2.5 million plus round-trip tickets for himself and his personal assistant, saying he considers the summons as a paid gig.

Threatens to Sue NAPTIP

“There’s no crime. I was trying to trend. Me coming there is a waste of my time,” he said, while warning,
“I will sue you for defamation for spoiling my name when you have no evidence.”
