PSG took an early lead in the 6th minute when João Neves headed in a well-placed Vitinha free-kick at the back post. Neves struck again shortly after with a classy finish to make it 2-0, capping off a swift, well-worked team move.
- An unfortunate own goal by Tomas Aviles made it 3-0, before Achraf Hakimi added the fourth, capitalizing on a rebound inside the box.

Reacting after the match, PSG manager Luis Enrique admitted his team took their foot off the gas in the second half but was pleased with the result.
“We showed less energy in the second half, but I am happy,” Enrique told reporters during his post-match press conference.
