Hon. Akpanke, who represents the Obanliku/Obudu/Bekwara Federal Constituency in Cross River State, was elected under the PDP platform. Hon. Nnamchi, representing Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency of Enugu State, was elected on the Labour Party ticket.
According to the lawmakers, their defection to the APC was prompted by unresolved internal crises within their former parties and their desire to support the development-oriented policies of the APC-led Federal Government.
