Osimhen Open to £200k Weekly Wage at Manchester United – Fabrizio Romano.

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly willing to accept a weekly wage of under £200,000 to join Manchester United, contrary to earlier reports suggesting he was demanding £300,000 per week, according to respected transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking to Givemesport, Romano clarified that the Napoli forward is not seeking an inflated salary, as previously speculated. Instead, Osimhen wants his current earnings respected — approximately €12 million net per season (about £10.2 million), which aligns closely with £200k per week.

“He just wants his current salary to be respected, nothing different. Same as one year ago,” Romano said.

Man United’s Striker Hunt Could Be Boosted by Osimhen’s Stance

With Manchester United reportedly aiming to reduce their wage bill under new owners INEOS, Osimhen’s realistic wage expectations could reignite the club’s interest. Comparatively, Mason Mount earns £250k per week, and Osimhen’s expected deal falls well below that threshold.

The 26-year-old striker, who had a standout loan spell at Galatasaray, scoring 37 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches, is set to leave Napoli this summer. His contract expires in 2025 and includes a €75 million release clause, reportedly valid only for foreign clubs.

Osimhen Transfer Update: United, Liverpool, and Juventus in the Race

Osimhen’s next move remains a hot topic in the transfer market:

  • Liverpool is reportedly discussing a swap deal involving Darwin Núñez.
  • Juventus is pushing hard, with their project reportedly appealing more to Osimhen than other options.
  • Galatasaray, impressed with his loan spell, is still hopeful of securing him permanently.
  • Saudi club Al-Hilal made a £30 million-a-year offer, which Osimhen turned down, signalling his preference to remain in European football.

Rio Ferdinand: “He’s Waiting for Manchester United”

Former United defender Rio Ferdinand weighed in, suggesting that Osimhen’s decision to reject the lucrative Saudi offer might be a signal that he’s waiting for a move to Old Trafford.

  • “It looks like he’s turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Manchester United. I don’t know if United are going to come. That’s the problem,” Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.

With Rasmus Højlund struggling for consistency and Joshua Zirkzee thriving more in deeper roles, Manchester United remains in the market for a proven No. 9.

Osimhen’s Record at Napoli

Since joining Napoli in 2020, Osimhen has been one of Serie A’s most prolific strikers:

  • 133 appearances
  • 76 goals
  • 18 assists
  • 2022/23 Serie A title winner

As the transfer window heats up, the race for Victor Osimhen is intensifying—and his £200k wage request might just bring Manchester United closer to sealing the deal.
