2027: Ex-Presidential Aide Aliyu Audu Vows to Campaign Against Tinubu’s Re-Election.

A former Senior Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, has publicly declared his opposition to Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, stating that he resigned from the administration to work actively against the president’s second-term ambition.

Audu made the declaration during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, June 16, 2025, where he cited principle, patriotism, and the desire for a more inclusive Nigeria as reasons behind his decision.

  • “It’s about believing that Nigeria is not beyond fixing. It’s about knowing what loyalty is, and to whom it should be absolute,” Audu said.

“We Will Remove Tinubu in 2027” – Aliyu Audu Declares

In a bold statement, Audu vowed to mobilize against the Tinubu-led APC government, saying he could not remain in an administration he no longer believed in.

“By God, we will remove President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. We will reinstall a leader chosen by the people, not imposed. It won’t be Emi lo kan, it will be Gbogbo wa lo kan (it’s everyone’s turn),” he declared.

Criticism of Tinubu’s Government and Political Alliances

The former aide accused the Tinubu administration of prioritizing revenge over national unity and abandoning the promises made during the 2023 presidential campaign.

He referenced the political alliance between President Tinubu and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, saying it was once a strategic necessity but is now questionable.

“It is no news that there was a relationship between the former governor of Rivers State and the current president… It was justified during the elections, but the direction we are heading now raises red flags.”

Accusations of Political Intolerance and Power Consolidation

Audu compared President Tinubu’s current leadership style to that of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, alleging that the current administration is using similar tactics to marginalize opposition and dominate the political landscape, especially in the Southwest.

He further condemned the alleged attempt to build a one-party state, saying such moves confirmed his fears and pushed him to resign.

“It confirmed it on one hand and strengthened my resolve not to work for him in 2027,” he said. “I couldn’t in good conscience remain in his government while plotting his removal.”

A Call for People’s Choice in 2027

Audu emphasized that Nigerians deserve a government that reflects their collective will, not one built on personal ambition and political dominance.

His exit and public stance mark a significant shift within the Tinubu camp, raising concerns about growing dissent from within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
