Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, as new manager Thomas Frank looks to reunite with one of his former key players ahead of the new Premier League season.
Mbeumo, a 25-year-old Cameroon international, had a stellar season for Brentford, scoring 20 Premier League goals and cementing his place as one of the league’s most consistent attackers.
Thomas Frank Era Begins at Spurs
Just days after Thomas Frank was confirmed as Tottenham’s new manager, the North London club is already being linked with players from his former squad, with Mbeumo high on the list.
Spurs have not yet submitted an official bid, but are reportedly monitoring the situation closely.
Manchester United’s Failed Bid
Earlier in June, Manchester United made a move for Mbeumo with an offer of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons, but Brentford rejected the deal, holding firm to their valuation of the player. The Bees are reportedly unwilling to let Mbeumo leave for anything less than what they believe reflects his value and impact.
No Release Clause in Contract
Mbeumo’s current contract runs until 2026, with an option for Brentford to extend it by another year. Importantly, the deal does not contain a release clause, meaning Brentford remain in a strong position to negotiate.

The forward has scored 70 goals in 242 appearances for Brentford since his move from French club Troyes in 2019.
