Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been honoured with the prestigious chieftaincy title of “Ugosimba 1 of Enugu”, meaning “Jewel or Eagle from another kingdom”. The title was conferred by the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council during her two-day working visit to the South East state.

- Speaking during the ceremony, HRM Igwe Ikechukwu Asadu, Chairman of the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, described Senator Tinubu as a woman of substance whose legislative and humanitarian achievements have touched lives across Nigeria.
“Our First Lady served three consecutive terms in the Senate and earned the Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON. She was never silent in the Parliament,” Asadu said.
“We are honouring her for her love for Enugu State, for midwives, for nurses, and for her efforts in caring for the sick, feeding the hungry, and clothing the less privileged,” he added.
