Controversial Anambra-based cleric, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has advised Nigerian students to steer clear of certain university courses, claiming they are unproductive and a waste of time, especially for those from poor backgrounds.
In a viral video trending on X (formerly Twitter), Odumeje bluntly stated that courses like Political Science, History, Microbiology, Sociology, and Library Information Science are “useless” in today’s Nigeria if the student does not come from a well-connected family.

“If your father has no connection in politics or government, don’t go to school to study Political Science, History, Microbiology, or Sociology. These are useless courses,” Odumeje declared.
“Library Information Science? It’s better to learn barbing. We don’t waste time and money on nonsense anymore. Your education should be meaningful and bring blessings to your family, not joblessness.”
“Go for Profitable Skills and Meaningful Education”
The self-proclaimed “Indaboski” warned against wasting four to five years in university studying courses that do not lead to job opportunities, calling instead for vocational skills or entrepreneurial paths that offer practical income.
“That’s why we have too many jobless graduates in Nigeria. When educated people enter business, you’ll notice the difference. But studying courses that don’t pay is a waste,” he said.
Odumeje Eyes 2027 Presidential Run
This is not the first time Odumeje has stirred public reaction with bold statements. Recently, he hinted at a 2027 presidential ambition, saying he plans to contest without a political party because Nigeria needs a young, digital-minded leader.

In another viral sermon, Odumeje criticized both past and present Nigerian leaders for failing to advance the country, calling them “old cargoes.”
“Nigeria needs a vibrant, digital president. Not old cargoes. I’m coming out. Odumeje for president. Are you ready for me?” he declared to loud cheers from his congregation.
He promised Nigerians modern infrastructure, technological development, and a digital lifestyle, saying he has the vision to transform the country.
