Bandits Attack 18-Seater Bus on Osokoko–Obajana Road in Kogi, Military Repels Assailants.

Armed bandits launched a brazen attack along the Osokoko–Obajana axis in Kogi State, targeting two commercial 18-seater buses. While one bus was successfully intercepted by the attackers, the second vehicle managed to escape.

The exact number of passengers kidnapped remains unclear, but eyewitnesses reported that all occupants of the bus seized by the bandits were taken. Sources also confirmed that Nigerian Army personnel arrived promptly after the incident, engaging the attackers and successfully repelling the assault.

A video circulating online showed travelers waiting on the highway until the military cleared the road, reassuring residents and motorists of their safety. One witness noted, “Road don clear, all thanks to the Nigerian Army, everybody don dey go back.”

Eyewitnesses described the assailants as attempting to block and raid vehicles along the route. Unfortunately, the operation resulted in the deaths of one vigilante and a resident, identified as a Hausa man.
