The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has officially welcomed Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, its 2025 governorship candidate, after his recent visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja.
Ukachukwu, speaking at a grand reception at the Chinua Achebe Airport, debunked growing rumours of an alleged alliance between the APC and the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
No Alliance With Soludo – Ukachukwu Declares
Addressing the APC faithful, Ukachukwu clarified that President Tinubu has not endorsed Soludo or APGA for the 2025 elections.
“APC is Tinubu and Tinubu is APC. They (APGA/Soludo) should stop lying. There is no alliance. We are the APC, it is our party, and we will win without partnering with anyone,” Ukachukwu stated.
He added that the President gave him a direct mandate to “go and get Anambra State and connect it to the centre.”
Ukachukwu also used the opportunity to officially unveil Senator Uche Ekwunife as his running mate, describing her as a “political juggernaut” and urging party stakeholders to rally behind their joint candidacy.
APC Anambra Chairman Confirms Tinubu’s Support
Also speaking at the event, APC State Chairman, Mr. Basil Ejidike, affirmed that all rumours about a possible alliance with Soludo have been put to rest.

“There is no alliance. Ukachukwu is fresh from the Presidential Villa. Our national officers and the Presidency have confirmed him as our candidate. We are now stronger and ready to take over the Government House,” Ejidike said.
He assured party members that the APC’s march to victory in Anambra is now clearer than ever.
