Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has tipped Estevao and Lamine Yamal as future superstars who could follow in the footsteps of football legends Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Messi and Ronaldo have long dominated world football, collectively winning eight Ballon d’Or awards and earning their place among the greatest players of all time.
Speaking to BeIN Sports after Chelsea’s Champions League victory over Barcelona, Maresca said the young stars have the potential to reach similar heights:
- “As Raphinha said, probably in the next 10, 15 years, Estevao and Lamine Yamal are probably going to be the next Messi and Ronaldo.”

The coach added that the two players, both 18 years old, should focus on growth and development:
- “But for both, they are 18. They need to enjoy it, to try to improve every day. This is the most important thing for them.”
