Atiku Abubakar Officially Joins African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the coalition-backed party he is expected to align with ahead of the 2027 elections.

Atiku announced his membership on X, posting a photo holding his ADC membership card with the caption:

“It’s official.”

This move comes after Atiku resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July, following prolonged internal crises within the party. His resignation came just two weeks after opposition politicians adopted the ADC as their platform for the 2027 presidential election.

Reasons Behind Atiku’s Departure from PDP

Following his resignation, Atiku, through a letter dated July 16, explained his decision. Addressed to the Chairman of PDP Jada 1 Ward in Adamawa State, the former Vice President cited irreconcilable differences and a shift in the party’s direction away from its founding principles.
