Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Johannesburg, South Africa, for Luanda, Angola, where he will represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 7th African Union–European Union (AU-EU) Summit.
His departure comes shortly after concluding high-level assignments at the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, where he stood in for President Tinubu during key discussions on global economic reforms, critical minerals, and AI governance.

According to a statement issued by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), the AU-EU Summit will take place in Luanda from November 24 to 25, 2025.
The gathering will bring together Heads of State and Government, young innovators, civil society organisations, and development experts from Africa and Europe to address shared global and regional priorities.
