Details have emerged of a high-level meeting between US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and a Nigerian delegation led by National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, focusing on the rising violence against Christians in Nigeria.
The meeting, confirmed by Sean Parnell, Assistant on Public Affairs and Advisor to the Secretary of War, took place at the Pentagon on 20 November 2025. It follows US President Donald Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern (CPC)” over claims of systematic killings of Christians by jihadist groups.
