Canceling his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa, Tinubu personally coordinated national security efforts following a series of recent abductions, underlining that the government would confront criminality decisively.

- “Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” the President declared in a statement posted on his official X handle on Sunday.
Tinubu confirmed the rescue of all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, and the release of 51 students kidnapped from a Catholic school in Niger State, crediting the efforts of security forces over the past few days.

- “Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued. I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State have been recovered,” he added.
The President assured Nigerians that he is closely monitoring security developments nationwide and receiving continuous updates from frontline operatives. His statement comes amid growing public demand for stronger and faster government action against kidnappings and armed attacks across the country.
