Manchester City kept their hopes of Champions League qualification firmly alive with a dramatic late win over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The Premier League clash looked destined for a goalless draw until the 84th minute, when young defender Nico O’Reilly pounced on a cutback from Matheus Nunes to break the deadlock. Substitute Mateo Kovacic then sealed the victory with a stoppage-time strike, stretching to slot home and secure all three points for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The win moves City up to fourth place on the Premier League table, now four points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea, who face Fulham on Sunday in a crucial London derby.

The first half lacked intensity, with Everton’s best chance coming from James Tarkowski, whose header from a James Garner corner struck the post. Kevin De Bruyne came close for City just before the break, only to see his shot cleared off the line by Jake O’Brien.
In the second half, Savinho tested Jordan Pickford with a low drive, but the England goalkeeper was equal to the effort. However, it was Manchester City who had the final say with two decisive late goals.
