President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, until December 31, 2026.
The extension was announced in a statement issued on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
President Tinubu praised Nandap’s leadership, highlighting her efforts in border security, immigration reforms, and service modernization.

“Under her leadership, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has achieved remarkable progress in border management, digital immigration processes, and national security enhancements. President Tinubu lauded the Comptroller-General for her outstanding leadership and urged her to sustain the momentum in line with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement read.

Kemi Nandap joined the Nigeria Immigration Service on October 9, 1989. She was appointed as Comptroller-General on March 1, 2024, with her initial tenure set to end on August 31, 2025, before the recent extension.
