With less than 24 hours to the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Mop-Up Exam, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has raised concerns over the low turnout of candidates printing their examination notification slips.
According to a statement released on Friday, June 27, 2025, by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, only 12,442 out of the 98,232 candidates scheduled to participate in the mop-up exam have printed their exam slips — a low 12.6% participation rate.

The mop-up exam is scheduled to be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, for candidates who missed the main UTME for legitimate reasons.
“We strongly encourage all candidates, particularly those who missed the main examination, to print their notification slips promptly. This is a rare opportunity for them to participate in this year’s examination,” JAMB stated.
JAMB emphasized that failure to print the slip means automatic forfeiture of the opportunity to sit for the exam. The board assured that all necessary human and material resources have been deployed to ensure a smooth process.
