Winners to Take Home $125 Million As FIFA Launches Record $1 Billion Payout Structure
FIFA has officially revealed the prize money breakdown for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, setting a new financial benchmark with a record-shattering USD 1 billion total purse. The tournament champions are set to earn up to $125 million, the largest single payout in club football history.
Approved by the FIFA Council, the distribution model reflects extensive discussions with stakeholders, including the European Club Association, and introduces both performance-based rewards and participation funds for all 32 competing clubs.
“This is the biggest-ever prize money structure for a football tournament,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
🏆 Two-Tiered Club World Cup Prize Structure
- The $1 billion prize is split into two key components:
⚽ 1. Sporting Performance Pillar – $475 Million
Clubs will earn money based on how far they progress through the new seven-match format of the tournament:
Group Stage
- Win: $2 million per match
- Draw: $1 million per match
Round of 16: +$7.5 million
Quarter-Finals: +$ 13.125 million
Semi-Finals: +$21 million
Runner-Up (Finalist): +$30 million
Winner: +$40 million
When combined with match bonuses, the maximum payout for the tournament winner is projected to reach $125 million.
🌍 2. Participation Pillar – $525 Million
Every participating club is guaranteed a base payout based on its continental federation:
- Europe (UEFA): $12.81M – $38.19M
- South America (CONMEBOL): $15.21M
- North/Central America & Caribbean (CONCACAF): $9.55M
- Asia (AFC): $9.55M
- Africa (CAF): $9.55M
- Oceania (OFC): $3.58M
This structure ensures a global financial impact, rewarding clubs from every region and helping reduce the financial gap between teams.
🌐 Solidarity Investment: $250 Million for Global Club Development
Beyond prize money, FIFA has committed an additional $250 million in solidarity funding to strengthen global club football. This initiative targets developmental support for clubs that don’t qualify, helping grow football infrastructure and talent across regions, especially in Africa, Asia, and South America.
“It’s about building a more equal football world,” said Infantino. “This fund is for clubs everywhere.”
