Prominent PDP chieftain, Dele Momodu, has publicly praised President Bola Tinubu for intervening in the controversial Abuja property sealing carried out by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) under FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
Several properties, including banks, filling stations, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) office, and notably, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national secretariat, were sealed on Monday, May 26, over unpaid ground rent totaling billions of Naira.
Following widespread outrage and public backlash, President Tinubu stepped in and ordered an immediate suspension of the enforcement, granting a 14-day grace period to all affected property owners to settle their debts.
Momodu Thanks Tinubu, Slams Wike’s “Overreach”
Reacting via his verified Instagram account, Dele Momodu hailed Tinubu’s decisive action, stating that it showed the President was “fully in charge” and capable of curbing excesses within his administration.
“Thank you, President Tinubu… You have stepped into the matter of your cantankerous FCT Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, who sealed the PDP National Secretariat and other defaulters’ properties in Abuja. Your decision today achieved several points in your favour,” Momodu wrote.
He criticized Wike for what he described as a vindictive and disruptive leadership style, accusing him of acting like he were not accountable to anyone.
“There Can’t Be Two Presidents” – PDP Leader Warns
In a pointed remark, Momodu said:
“We used to think there were two presidents in Nigeria — Tinubu and Wike. Now, we know Wike has a boss.”
Momodu further urged Tinubu to rein in Wike’s political interference in Rivers State, where Wike remains locked in a power struggle with Governor Sim Fubara. He warned that Wike’s actions risk destabilizing the state and creating unnecessary hardship for its people.
Calls for Accountability and Leadership Restraint
Momodu compared Wike’s conduct with that of Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, praising Umahi for being “humble and focused,” unlike Wike, whom he accused of holding tautological press conferences and seeking to run his own “federal government.”
“Sir, there can’t be two captains in one ship. I hope Wike got that message loud and clear from your powerful intervention today,” he concluded.

Tinubu’s Intervention: A Political Turning Point?
President Tinubu’s directive to suspend the sealing exercise is being seen by many as a strategic move to project leadership maturity, political control, and national unity amid rising tension and economic challenges.
As the PDP commends this decision, observers are keen to see whether Tinubu will also address the deepening Rivers State crisis and take further steps to assert executive control over his appointees.
