Nigerian Pastor Timothy Omotoso Set to Be Deported from South Africa.

Embattled Nigerian televangelist, Pastor Timothy Omotoso, is set to be deported from South Africa following his recent re-arrest by immigration authorities.

According to SABC and Newsroom Afrika, the 66-year-old cleric is expected to depart Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport today, Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Television footage showed Omotoso at the airport engaging in conversation with an immigration official. However, the exact time of his departure remains unknown.

Voluntary Exit After Acquittal and Re-arrest

Pastor Omotoso reportedly opted to leave the country voluntarily after being re-arrested on May 10 in East London, Eastern Cape.

This move comes just weeks after his acquittal on 32 charges including rape, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking—charges for which he spent eight years in prison before the court cleared him in April 2025.
