The National Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has officially welcomed 24 retired military officers into the fold of the political movement, marking a significant boost to its grassroots strength and credibility.

NaijaBlogDaily reports that the officers, all indigenes of Kano State, retired from the Nigerian Armed Forces in January 2025 after 35 years of service.

A Strategic Endorsement

The officers were led by Kabiru Getso Haruna, Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board, who described their alignment with Kwankwasiyya as a principled and patriotic decision.

“These are disciplined, patriotic Nigerians who have given their lives to the service of the country. Now, they are committing their experience and integrity to strengthening a movement that represents the hope of the common people,” Haruna said.

Kwankwaso’s Response

While receiving the delegation in Kano, Kwankwaso — a former Kano State Governor and NNPP Presidential Candidate — praised the officers’ decision as a moment of pride and honour.

He further noted that the inclusion of disciplined professionals such as retired officers is essential to building a political structure rooted in merit, discipline, and service delivery.
