Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially confirmed that a political coalition between Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and himself has been formed ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with plans to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking at the Arewa TechFest in Katsina on Wednesday, El-Rufai revealed that a strategic meeting of opposition leaders was held in Abuja on Tuesday night, where it was agreed that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) would be adopted as the unified political platform for the coalition.

“Yesterday at 8 PM, there was a very important meeting of the coalition we’re putting together to ensure that President Tinubu goes back to Lagos,” El-Rufai stated during his address.
He further noted that while the opposition seeks to overhaul the current administration, certain ministers, such as Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, would be retained for their commendable performance.
“Though we will still keep Bosun Tijani, because he is doing good work,” he added.

An insider at the meeting said:
“They have adopted the African Democratic Congress as the coalition party, all of them—Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai—are working together. They came to the conclusion last night up till the early hours of this morning.”
