Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has pointed to injuries and red cards as the main reasons behind the club’s failure to secure the 2024/2025 Premier League title.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Arteta expressed his frustration over the setbacks that derailed Arsenal’s title challenge. His comments were also shared via transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter).

“Red cards and injuries – for sure,” Arteta said when asked why Arsenal fell short.

“Would we be much closer? For me, the answer is, without question, yes.”

Despite the title setback, Arsenal still have everything to play for, as they prepare to host Newcastle United in a crucial fixture at the Emirates Stadium.
